The city of water might be the ultimate nirvana for aspiring models and photographers. There’s literally a perfect shot to be taken at every corner or bridge, but we still managed to find the most photogenic shots for you.

For a complete overview of all the best photo spots in Venice, with exact locations, see the map at the bottom.

Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo

Wow! The architecture, the view, this tower is truly beautiful. You do need to pay an entrance fee, but it's well worth it. Take the photo from the balcony while you hang out of the tower trough one of the arches. Stunning! Tip: Othello's spiralling stairway is the perfect climb or descent for a short reel.

Tre Ponti in Burano

Another day, another bridge. What really makes this photo so spectacular are of course the colourful houses. Take a seat on the wooden railing facing north, towards all the houses, ask the other friendly tourists to give you some windows, and click away. Tip: Walk around in Burano and you'll definitely find many more amazing photo spots.

Doge Palace Courtyard stairs

There are many amazing pictures to be taken in the Doge Palace. We especially like this one. It's taken from under the arch of the Basilica San Marco towards the stairs to the Palace. Tip: Don't forget to wander around on the courtyard for more shots. You can take the same picture as on the square, towards or away from the Basilica.

Gondola

There's many places to catch a Gondola. This pier is a little bit more quiet than right next to the Rialto bridge. Here's just one shot to make in the Gondola, but we know you got this. Get creative. Tip: Look stunning as always and think about the route beforehand. Do you want to ride the Grand Canal where most sights are, but where it's also most crowded, or do you want to take the more relaxt waterways in the back canals?

Sala Capitore in the Scuola Grande di San Rocco

Another one where you have to buy a ticket, but that's what's inevitable in Venice. Lot's of tickets, lots of waiting. But then again, there aren't many more photogenic places in the world than this little city of water. Again, go early during the day for this fantastic shot in the Sala Capitore. Tip: Check the fastest way to this room beforehand so you know you'll be somewhat alone.

Hotel Palazzo Barbarigo

You have to make arrangements with the hotel to be able to make this photo. We don't know exactly what their latest policy is, but we do know that there's only one balcony like this. Located in the bar. So, be sure to make a reservation beforehand.

Bridge of Sighs from ponte de Canonica

This is a bit of a tricky one, because for this exact shot, you do need a camera with good zoom as the picture is taken one bridge upstream. If you don't have that or if you're traveling alone, take your shot from this bridge or the one on the waterside.

Libreria Acqua Alta Di Frizzo Luigi

The bookshop with the iconic stairs of knowledge. Unfortunately this place is quite small so it gets really crowded during prime time. Staff may tell you to carry on and not take too much time for photo's. Tip: If you want the shot of you sitting on the book stairs, come early or be really quick to strike your pose.

Rialto bridge from the pier

There's many angles to this bridge, but this pier is probably the most famous spot to capture it's beauty in the background of your shot. Tip: You're probably not the only one taking this shot, but normally a line will form with people waiting their turn. As always, the early bird gets the best shot.

Ponte de Chiodo

This cute picture can be taken from the Ponte Racheta next to it. The Ponte de Chiodo is normally not so crowded since it's a bit further away from all the other hotspots. And yet, look at what a lovely bridge this is. Perfect if you want to take a little bit more time for your shot.
